Prague: Meet Me at the Charles Bridge

So there is no right or wrong way to explore this city, there are endless things to see. I highly suggest just wandering around and spending a day or two on each side of the bridge.

Astronomical Clock

Make sure to stop here at the top of the hour at least once while you are here to experience its full beauty. This medieval astronomical clock is the oldest working clock in the world. It was installed in 1410 and not only tells time, but it has a chime for every hour. As you listen to the clock to pay attention to the top 2 window like areas.

Old Town Square

So I might be a little bias, but nothing beats this square at Christmas time. It is like a dream come true with snow, horses, beautiful views and a one of a kind holiday market. Not to mention the Astronomical Clock is here. Throughout the year they have regular markets as well and it is surrounded by some great restaurants.

Church of our Lady

If you like old churches and beautiful things, make sure to stop in and check out this church, it's right across from the astronomical clock.

Dancing House

While you are in town check out this building that reminds people of the famous dancers, Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers. Stop in and enjoy a meal, or a drink, or even just drive by, the architecture is so cool and unusual!

Vltava River

Take a cruise down the Vltava river and get to see all the old buildings an history around town. There and many different options for the cruises, some including food or drinks, or sunset views. The duration also vary, so it's pretty easy to fit into you schedule.

Charles Bridge

Don't miss out on walking the bridge that connects the old city. The bridge is only about 1/4 of a mile so its a easy stroll to make it to the awesome things on the other side of the Vltava River. Not to mention the architecture and sculptures along the bridge are phenomenal.

John Lennon Wall

If you can't tell by my excessive amount of pictures, this is something you do not want to miss! Come prepared with something to be able to sign the wall and leave your mark. I ended up having to use a lipstick I had in my purse since it was my only option. There is so much cool artwork to see.

Prague Castle

This UNESCO World Heritage site is something you don't want to miss. Check out the changing of the guard, the gardens (depending on the time of year), St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George's Basilica. Plan to spend a good bit of time here exploring the grounds and its beauty.

Sigmund Freud

While this is a little more usual attraction, it is cool. There is a 7ft tall hanging Sigmund Freud in the Old Town. Be sure to keep a look out to the sky and find him hanging from a building!

Try Absinthe

While you can purchase absinthe in the U.S., nothing will compare to the real thing. Light that sugar cube on fire and enjoy the licorice flavor! Fair warning, everyone reacts differently to absinthe, it could cause you to hallucinate, so be prepared.
